Why are there 3 Gerards in our Family?
Mom and Dad (Rest-in-peace) raised 5 kids in St. Louis. When their third was born, mom found out about an issue with her kidneys. Her doctor gave her ominous news about the risks with delivering our brother Thomas safely. Being good Catholics, they chose St. Gerard (the patron saint of healthy deliveries) as the middle name for him.
The delivery went perfectly…but her doctor warned her against future births. So when she got pregnant again – and again (like I said, good Catholics), she kept Gerard as the middle name to keep us all safe – and so were born the 3Gerards.
